What should I do when I cannot finish a report on time?

I have an AI assignment due soon, and my report is still not finished. I even searched hire someone to write my report when I started feeling stressed, but I would rather find better ways to manage my work. How do you handle a report when the deadline is close? Do you focus on the outline first or finish one section at a time? I would really appreciate advice from students who have faced tight deadlines.
